New campaign encourages locals to support businesses
in the Langley community

Langley, British Columbia (December 20, 2021): Tourism Langley and The Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce are pleased to introduce Share the Local Love, an initiative that encourages locals to support businesses in the Langley community with special incentives and itineraries now through mid-February.

Share the Local Love is designed to inspire individuals to discover or rediscover shopping and dining destinations in the township with giveaways on gift cards that can be redeemed at Langley businesses, themed itineraries, and inspiring content. Exciting opportunities are available to business owners, with giveaways on marketing bundles that include advertising and photography services.

“After many months of travel restrictions that have impacted so many businesses in the Township of Langley, we felt this was an incredible opportunity to help support our local businesses, while reminding Metro Vancouver residents of the importance of shopping locally and the variety of options available here,” says Erinn Kredba, Executive Director of Tourism Langley.

Share the Local Love is made possible by project funding received as part of Shop Local BC, a government initiative that supports campaigns that encourage Canadians to support local businesses through the holiday season and into 2022. This Shop Local BC initiative is supported by the Government of Canada’s Strategic Activities Program, administered by the Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, and delivered through the BC Chamber of Commerce. The program received 88 applications seeking over $5 million in asks to support Shop Local initiatives across the province. More information on Shop Local can be found on the BC Chamber Commerce
website.

“The Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce is pleased to be able to support our local business community when they need it the most,” says Colleen Clark, CEO. “All businesses in Langley benefit from this promotion of local goods, services and experiences. Langley has so much to choose from, so we are going to share that local love with the rest of the Lower Mainland.”

Langley is one of the largest “buy local” destinations in the Fraser Valley. Full of locally-owned unique boutiques and eateries, offering gorgeous artisan goods and handmade clothing, notable wines and craft beer, and much more.
