Andrea Castro Recognized with BC Achievement Foundation Community Award

The Langley Chamber congratulates Chamber member Andrea Castro, founder of Forever Kind, on receiving a BC Achievement Foundation Community Award for her work advancing inclusive communication and accessibility.

A longtime Langley resident and local realtor, Andrea created Forever Kind after seeing a need for better communication tools for children like her daughter, Ariyana, who lives with autism and Down Syndrome. When Andrea could not find the kind of communication board her daughter needed, she created one herself — and soon began helping other families, schools, and communities do the same.

Forever Kind is dedicated to creating inclusive public environments for all children. Its communication boards use images, American Sign Language symbols, and accessible design features to help neurodivergent children, children with communication barriers, and others express themselves more easily. The boards are now being requested by parents, school districts, and municipalities for use in public spaces.

The Langley Chamber is proud to celebrate Andrea’s well-deserved recognition and the important work she is doing to build a more inclusive and accessible community.
