CKF Unveils New Production Line of Sustainable Packaging at Langley Factory

Today, CKF Inc. -- one of Langley's largest employers and long-time Chamber member -- unveiled a new production line for their certified home compostable and recyclable food packaging, Earthcycle™ at the Langley B.C. factory, supporting their commitment to growing the sustainable packaging market.  Hon. Andrew Mercier, B.C. Minister of State for Workforce Development, and Langley Mayor Nathan Pachal spoke at the ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by a guided tour of the plant for invited guests, including Langley Chamber CEO Cory Redekop.

Earthcycle services  packers, and retail customers with FSC certified, home-compostable and widely recyclable packaging for the fresh fruit and vegetable markets. The new Earthcycle™ production line will create 20 new full-time jobs at the Langley factory, which currently employs 325 people locally.  The new production line will both reduce Earthcycle’s transportation footprint and open distribution to new markets. "Langley's strategic location near major markets in California, the Pacific Northwest, and western Canada, coupled with access to global trade routes, strengthens our production capabilities. It also serves as a hub for further Earthcycle innovation, expanding the product line into new market applications,” said  CKF President Ian Anderson.

The Langley Chamber congratulates CKF on this unveiling and applauds their attention and focus on increasing sustainability in our supply chains.  "This is a business that's producing needed products right here in BC, that's investing in ways to leverage innovation to increase sustainability, and that's creating family-supporting jobs for Langley residents -- the Langley Chamber is very proud to have CKF as a member and as a major employer here in our community," added Cory Redekop, Langley Chamber CEO.
