Easter Ostrich Egg Painting at the Greater Vancouver Zoo
Easter Ostrich Egg Painting at the Greater Vancouver Zoo

This Easter, unleash your creativity and paint an egg-straordinary ostrich egg – at Chamber member Greater Vancouver Zoo, with all proceeds going to support animal enrichment at GVZoo!
The eggs are from their two female ostriches Omari and Oat. There are no male ostriches, so all the eggs were unfertilized. Each egg has already been hollowed out and sanitized. Ostrich eggs are 20 times larger than chicken eggs and notably stronger. The hollowed ostrich eggs can even survive small drops.
This is an all-ages event but parents must be present with their children. Acrylic paint and painting tools will be provided. You can pick up your egg at the end of the day, after it dries, or a later date. Painted eggs will be packaged, with a stand, in a padded box padded for safe transport. Guests are welcome to donate their egg for decoration, here a the zoo.
