Greater Vancouver Zoo Celebrates Birth of Endangered Red Panda Twins

Langley Chamber member the Greater Vancouver Zoo is celebrating a global conservation success with the birth of Red Panda twins.

The red pandas were born to mother Sakura and father Arun, two red pandas brought to the zoo as part of a species survival plan, a conservation breeding program around the world that uses facilities like the Greater Vancouver Zoo to begin the process of re-establishing endangered animals back into the wild

This birth is a success for this species which is listed as endangered, with fewer than 10,000 left in the world, and less than 2,500 red pandas living in the wild.
