Parks Canada is preparing the next management plan for Chamber member Fort Langley National Historic Site, which is due to be tabled in Parliament in 2024. The management plan guides the work Parks Canada will undertake to ensure Canadians and international visitors experience and learn about the full scope of our shared history, including the difficult periods that are part of our past.

Management plans are developed in consultation with Indigenous communities, as well as various partners, interest-holders and the public. Parks Canada completed the first phase of consultation in October 2023 and subsequently wrote the draft management plan.

The draft plan is available on Fort Langley’s website (https://parks.canada.ca/lhn-nhs/bc/langley/info/plan/developpement-development/ebauche-draft).

Public consultation on the draft management plan is now open until July 23, 2024. Partners, interest-holders, and the public are invited to provide feedback on the proposed vision and key strategies for the Fort Langley National Historic Site and can participate in several ways:

  • Attend a virtual consultation session by contacting Parks Canada for more information at fort.langley@pc.gc.ca or 604-513-4777.
