Applications Opening Soon for 2026 Canada Summer Jobs Funding

The federal Canada Summer Jobs program will soon be opening applications -- even earlier than typical --- giving local businesses and non-profit organizations a valuable opportunity to access wage subsidies for hiring youth next summer.  Don't miss out on this opportunity to get additional labour next year at a reduced cost to your business!

Applications for the 2026 program open November 4, 2025 and close December 11, 2025.  The Langley Chamber encourages interested members to prepare early to avoid missing the deadline.

Through Canada Summer Jobs, businesses can receive wage subsidies of 50% of the minimum wage, while non-profit employers can receive 100% wage subsidies. This program helps create meaningful work opportunities for young people while importantly allowing employers to expand capacity and offset labour costs during the busy spring and summer seasons.

Eligible employers must be able to provide a quality work experience that helps youth develop skills, gain work experience, and improve access to the labour market.

How to Apply

Applications are submitted through Grants and Contributions Online Services (GCOS).

  • If you already have a GCOS account, you can log in and apply once the application window opens.

  • If you don’t have an account, register now — it’s a one-time process, and setting it up early will save time when applications open.
