BC Agriculture and Food Export Program: Funding to Support Export Market Growth

Langley agriculture, food, and beverage businesses looking to expand into new markets may be eligible for cost-shared funding through the BC Agriculture and Food Export Program. The program supports export-focused market development activities that help businesses reduce risk, increase sales, and strengthen long-term sustainability.  Applications are open now and intake closes February 13, 2026 at 4:00 pm PST.

Program Overview

The BC Agriculture and Food Export Program provides cost-shared funding for activities that help B.C. exporters maintain, expand, or diversify markets outside of British Columbia. Projects must focus on export market development and be business-focused.  More info and apply >  
 

Who Is Eligible? 

  • Primary agriculture or seafood producers, fishers, or harvesters
  • Agriculture, food, beverage, or seafood processors
  • Agriculture, food, or beverage cooperatives
  • Head office in B.C. or legal entitlement to do business in B.C.
  • Products grown or processed in B.C.
  • Minimum annual gross revenues of $100,000 in each of the two most recent consecutive years (producers, processors, cooperatives only)
  • Minimum cash contribution: 50% for producers/processors/cooperatives

Eligible Activities

-Export market tradeshows, food fairs, and sales exhibitions: Participation in interprovincial or international tradeshows to connect with commercial buyers. Eligible costs include booth rentals and services, translators, buyer meetings, and shipping product samples. Consumer-focused events are not eligible

- Consumer-focused promotions in export markets: Retail or food-service promotions in export markets, including brand ambassadors, pop-up booths, serving materials, and shipping product samples.

-Export-focused marketing, advertising, and social media: Development of export-specific marketing materials (e.g., videos, brochures, banners, recipe cards, point-of-sale signage), paid advertising (print, radio, TV, digital), third-party social media management in export markets, and translation of marketing materials. Google Search Ads are not eligible.

-Market information and intelligence: Purchase of tailored market research to identify and assess interprovincial or international market opportunities. Industry associations may also undertake sector-wide research. Funding capped at $25,000 per applicant, per year.

-Product adaptation planning: Planning and development work to adapt products for new or existing export markets, including packaging design, samples, and prototypes. Funding capped at $25,000 per applicant, per year.

Funding Amounts

Producers, processors, and cooperatives:
Minimum $5,000; maximum $50,000 per year or 30% of the previous year’s revenues (whichever is lower).
