Chamber Presents 2025 HD Stafford Good Citizen Award
Chamber Presents 2025 HD Stafford Good Citizen Award
At its final event of the year on December 9, the Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce presented the 2025 HD Stafford Good Citizen Award to long-time community volunteer Karen Long.
Since 1980, the Chamber has awarded the HD Stafford Good Citizen Award annually to one individual who exemplify service, leadership, and community spirit. The award honours the legacy of Harold D. Stafford, a respected community leader known for his unwavering dedication to making Langley a better place to live, work, and play. His commitment to civic life set the standard for this recognition, now celebrating its 46th year.
This year’s recipient, Karen Long, reflects that same spirit of service. Karen has made a significant and lasting impact on the Langley community through her long-standing involvement in local organizations, initiatives, and volunteer efforts. A consistent presence within Langley’s non-profit and civic sectors, Karen has contributed extensive time and leadership to groups focused on everything from agriculture to seniors to community development and civic engagement. Karen actively serves in multiple capacities across various boards, committees, and community projects, including the BC Farm Museum, the Aldergrove Agricultural Fair & Festival Association, Langley Seniors in Action, the Langley Volunteer Bureau, and more.
“Karen embodies the exact qualities the HD Stafford Award seeks to recognize—commitment to community, a willingness to give generously of her time, and a deep belief in Langley’s potential,” said Cory Redekop, CEO of the Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce. “Her contributions have brought people together, supported local organizations, and helped ensure Langley continues to thrive – and we’re thrilled to recognize her as the 2025 HD Stafford Good Citizen Award recipient!”
