Greater Langley Chamber Signs MOU with South Korea’s Sungkyul University

As part of the Chamber’s broader work to support Langley’s diverse business community and strengthen Langley’s international connections, the Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding with Sungkyul University in the Republic of Korea, creating a framework to explore stronger business, educational and economic connections between Langley and Korea.

Located in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province, Sungkyul University is a post-secondary institution with interests in international education, business, trade, smart convergence and global engagement.

Through the MOU, the Chamber and Sungkyul University have agreed to explore opportunities to:

  • Build awareness of international trade, business and commercial opportunities between Langley and Korea;
  • Support appropriate introductions between businesses, educational institutions and other organizations;
  • Cooperate on activities that encourage knowledge-sharing related to trade, business, commerce and economic development; and
  • Promote relevant initiatives, events and opportunities through their respective communications channels.

“This agreement creates a practical starting point for building stronger connections between Langley and Korea,” said Cory Redekop, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce.  “Langley is home to a diverse and growing business community and by building relationships with international partners such as Sungkyul University, we can help create new opportunities for knowledge-sharing, business connections and future collaboration.”

The agreement was signed by Redekop on behalf of the Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce and Dr. Jung, Hee-Seog, President of Sungkyul University, who was visiting Langley as part of a delegation to the community.

This MOU is part of the Chamber’s efforts at fostering our diverse business community, which has included recently hosting visiting trade delegations as well as launching the Langley Asia Pacific Business Network.
