Langley City is planning a new Innovation District along Glover Road and Logan Avenue — a planning project designed to attract startups, entrepreneurs, and businesses.

The Innovation District is envisioned as a vibrant area to live, work, and play, with new housing, public spaces, and a supportive environment for creative and tech companies. It will also help connect Langley City’s downtown core with Kwantlen Polytechnic University and the future SkyTrain station, making it easier for people to get around the community.

As part of the City’s Official Community Plan, the Innovation District has been identified as a place for a mix of homes, innovative businesses, light industrial activity, and community spaces. Taller buildings with more homes, jobs, and services will be encouraged to take advantage of proximity to SkyTrain, local shops, and other amenities. This plan will guide future growth as an added layer to the OCP, ensuring the district develops into a hub of activity and opportunity.

If done properly, this Plan could create new opportunities for businesses to relocate to Langley, bringing spin off economic and business activity with them. It could also catalyze redevelopment and higher intensity uses along the corridor, presuming it allows for flexible land uses and can attract the right mix of businesses to the area.
