Key Information for BC Election on October 19

Election Day in BC is this Saturday, October 19.

As a strictly non-partisan organization, the Langley Chamber will engage with the next provincial government and our local MLAs regardless of who is elected.  That said, we encourage you to consider where the parties and candidates stand on the top issues and concerns of the Chamber and the needs of our business community.

To help our members with their decision, we have held forums with candidates in each of the Langley ridings, and have compiled some key information below which we encourage you to review:

Voting Info and Dates:
Advance Voting: October 10-13, 15-16
Final Voting Day: October 19

Key Issues to Consider:
As Langley’s largest business association, we regularly advocate for pro-business, pro-growth policies.  Over the past year, our top advocacy priorities have been lowering the cost of doing business, reducing regulation and requirements placed on employers, and securing the critical transportation and other infrastructure Langley needs and deserves.  You can stay on top of our advocacy efforts all year by checking the News page on our website >

We are also a leading member of the BC Chamber of Commerce, and have helped to develop much of their Top 10 Policy Priorities.   These 10 policies were developed by local chambers of commerce through on-the-ground consultation with businesses.  In fact, 3 of these policies were actually authored by the Langley Chamber to help tackle the issue of increased costs and taxes put on business.   Read the BC Chamber’s Top 10 Policy Priorities here  >

The Langley Chamber is also a member of the Fraser Valley Business Coalition – a collaboration brought together for this past year of the Langley, Abbotsford, Chilliwack and Mission chambers.  Our top issues for the Valley include supporting agriculture and food innovation, education and workforce development, addressing crime, building transportation infrastructure, and alleviating costs on businesses.  Read the Coalition’s full 5 Priorities for the next provincial government >
