Langley Chamber Advances Business Priorities at Provincial AGM

The Langley Chamber proudly participated in the 2025 BC Chamber of Commerce Annual General Meeting & Conference — a gathering of business, Chamber, government, and community leaders from across BC -- with our CEO and Board President both in attendance at this year's conference in Nanaimo.
Held annually, a key aspect of the conference is developing and debating policy resolutions that will form the basis of provincial advocacy to government for the next year. These resolutions represent the voice of businesses large and small across the province, and they reflect the real-world challenges and opportunities facing our economy.
The Langley Chamber continues to be a provincial leader in policy development, authoring and championing practical, business-focused policies that would deliver results. This week, Chamber has successfully advanced resolutions calling for:
-
Reforms to the BC Labour Relations Code to create a more balanced and supportive framework for employers;
-
Holding the line on paid sick leave to reflect the realities faced by small and medium-sized businesses;
-
Better supports for local businesses to grow beyond B.C., expanding into interprovincial and international markets;
-
Ending the patchwork approach to the Zero Carbon Step Code, advocating for a province-wide standard to reduce building costs and preserve energy choice.
Our continued engagement at the provincial level ensures that the voices of Langley businesses are heard and go into shaping provincial business advocacy to government. We will take these policies, and the rest of the adopted resolutions, and continue to push for pro-business changes in BC.
