Langley Chamber Celebrates Local Success at Sold-Out Langley Business Excellence Awards

Langley, BC –  The Langley business community came together to celebrate the exceptional achievements of local businesses at the sold-out 2025 Langley Business Excellence Awards gala on October 23rd. Presented by the Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce, the prestigious gala event was attended by over 400 of Langley’s business, community, and government leaders, who gathered to celebrate some of the standouts in Langley’s business community.

Among the recipients this year were Astria Properties and The Barley Merchant Taproom + Kitchen, which were recognized with the two Business of the Year awards, South Mill Champs, the Aldergrove mushroom farming business which won the Business Innovation Award for its pioneering work in robotics, and Johnny Alvernaz of Kitchen Makeovers, who was named Young Professional of the Year.

Now in its 29th year, the Langley Business Excellence Awards have become a hallmark of professional achievement, designed to highlight the innovation, resilience, and excellence of businesses across all sectors. This year’s event presented eight awards in categories that reflect the values and diversity of Langley’s thriving business community, including recognition for leadership, environmental sustainability, community involvement, and entrepreneurial success.

“Each year, these awards remind us that Langley’s business sector is dynamic, creative, and deeply invested in this community’s success,” said Cory Redekop, CEO of the Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce. “From new entrepreneurs to long-established employers to hidden gems, these award recipients reflect the best of what it means to do business in Langley: forward-thinking, community-minded, and built for success.”

The 2025 Langley Business Excellence Awards gala marked the culmination of a rigorous, months-long nomination and selection process. A public call for nominations at the end of spring once again drew a record-setting number of entries from across the community. Nominees were invited to submit detailed supporting information over the summer, which was reviewed by an independent panel of judges before being narrowed down to a shortlist of finalists — first announced in September — and finally to this year’s recipients, revealed live at the October 23rd gala.

The Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce remains committed to its mission of connecting, championing, and promoting local businesses. The Langley Business Excellence Awards play a vital role in that mission — recognizing outstanding achievement, celebrating innovation, and showcasing why Langley continues to stand out as one of British Columbia’s best places to do business.
