Langley Chamber Holds AGM with New Board Directors Elected and Panel Discussion on Mental Health

The Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce held its 2022 Annual General Meeting on September 20th, which saw the election of seven Board Directors to new terms, and which featured an engaging panel discussion on mental health in the workplace.

Three Board Directors were re-elected to new 2-year terms:

Christopher Finlay - RBC
Jonathan Chescoe - Ascension Benefits
Shaun Howe, CPA, CA - MNP

And four new Directors were elected to join the Board:

Tanya Gabara - Cascades Casino/Gateway Casinos
David Foxwell - Re/Max Aldercentre
Kristina Bradley M.A. - Nurse Next Door
Rachel Bolongaro - Fraser Valley Cider Co

In addition to the AGM proceedings, the Langley Chamber hosted a presentation and panel discussion on mental health in the workplace. With 500,000 Canadians missing at least some work each week due to mental health challenges, this is a pressing issue for businesses to understand and engage on.  The panel discussions, featuring speakers experienced in mental health, human resources, and insurance, spoke about the economic costs of mental health and related disability and absenteeism, policies and supports businesses can put in place to support workers, and ideas and best practices for engaging on this topic.
