Langley Chamber Offers Recommendations on Priorities for New BC Cabinet

As Premier David Eby prepares to appoint the new provincial cabinet, the Langley Chamber has offered recommendations for the priorities of his new Ministers. These suggestions, drawn from the NDP's election platform and aligned with key Chamber priorities, focus on addressing challenges that directly impact Langley’s business community. .

The Langley Chamber highlighted critical areas including advancing Highway 1 expansion, addressing TransLink’s funding gap, and creating a more business-friendly environment through an “Ease of Doing Business” review. Addressing housing affordability and industrial land shortages, were also emphasized as key barriers to economic growth that require urgent attention.  We also highlighted our policy proposal for the province to create new, consistent infrastructure funding for municipalities to alleviate the burden placed on property taxes.

Our recommendations also include support for more solutions to public safety, endorsing the proposed modernization of liquor policies to support hospitality businesses, and initiatives to strengthen Langley’s agricultural sector and ensure the ALR works for farmers.

As the voice of Langley’s business community, the Chamber is committed to working with this new provincial government to create conditions where our businesses can thrive.
