Langley Representatives Meet with Business Community at Chamber's Largest-Ever "Langley Local Leadership" Event
180 professionals and business owners gathered on January 16 to meet with and hear from Langley's elected officials from all 3 levels of government at the Langley Chamber's annual "Langley Local Government" event.
The event featured an extended networking reception where attendees enjoyed drinks and appetizers while connecting with one another and our Mayors and Councillors, Members of Parliament and provincial MLA. This was followed by a lengthy panel discussion with featuring Township Mayor Eric Woodward, City Mayor Nathan Pachal, federal MPs John Aldag and Tako van Popta and MLA Megan Dykeman. The discussion, moderated by the Langley Chamber, delved into issues of taxation and business costs, crime, land use and planning, infrastructure, housing and health care, and saw the elected officials at times agree on solutions and at others advocate for greater or different actions from other levels of government.
The Langley Chamber thanks everyone who attended, and gives special thanks to FortisBC, ML Emporio Properties, and TWU School of Business: MBA Program for their support of the event!
