Nominations Open for 2024 'HD Stafford Good Citizen Award'
Nominations are now OPEN for the 2024 HD Stafford Good Citizen Award!
Since 1980, the Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce has presented the HD Stafford Good Citizen Award to a deserving community member in recognition of their outstanding contribution to Langley. This year's award will be presented at the Chamber's Annual Holiday Dinner on December 10th.
This award honours an individual who contributes towards bringing together our diverse community to make a positive difference to Langley. The award is dedicated to the memory of the late Harold Stafford who epitomized what a good citizen should be. Harold Stafford dedicated incredible time and effort to initiatives that made Langley a better place to live, work, and play.

Eligibility and nomination requirements are outlined below:
Eligibility:
- Award is for an individual, not an organization or business
- Nominee must be 19+ years of age
- Nominee must contribute to the wellbeing of the community through volunteer or other service, and demonstrate a commitment to the betterment of Langley
- Nominee must be nominated by a third-party (no self-nominations) -- typically the nominee is not aware of the nomination
- Current Langley Chamber Board Directors, and current elected government officials are not eligible
Requirements:
Nominators will be asked to provide the following information as part of their nomination:
- The nominee's name
- The nominator's name and contact information
- At least 1 Letter of Support from a third-party organization or individual
- Supporting details outlining the nominee's contributions and efforts, including the following questions:
- Outline the nominee's overall contributions to the Langley community, focusing on specific initiatives, projects, or causes they have been involved with. Also, describe how their actions have impacted the community in a positive way.
- How has the nominee helped to bring together Langley's diverse community? Provide examples of how they’ve fostered unity, collaboration, or inclusion within the community.
- In what ways does the nominee embody the spirit of Harold Stafford, dedicating time, effort, and tenacity to making Langley a better place to live, work, and play? How has this individual made volunteering and contributing to the community a long-term passion, and how many years have they been involved in such efforts?
