Support Increasing Employment Land Supply: Open House for Fraser Highway Employment Lands Plan

An Open House is planned for January 30 to seek feedback on the Township of Langley's planning for new employment/industrial lands along Fraser Highway. The Langley Chamber strongly supports the Township's efforts to bring new employment/industrial land into use, and encourages members to share their support as well.

The Township of Langley is developing a Fraser Highway Employment Lands Area Plan. The Plan will increase the employment/industrial land supply and provide employment opportunities for Township residents.  The Metro Vancouver region suffers from a significant shortage of industrial lands, and is already seeing some industry and economic activity forgoing Langley and our region in favour of other jurisdictions that are better able to meet their land needs.

The proposed Fraser Highway Employment Lands falls along a corridor on Fraser Highway between 228 Street and 240 Street, and are comprised of about 500 acres which are primarily rural, with some industrial and residential uses.  Importantly, this land is not within the Agricultural Land Reserve.
