Surrey-Langley SkyTrain Confirmed for 2028; Langley Chamber Joins Ministers for Announcement of Final Approvals

July 14 - The Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce joined provincial Transportation Minister Rob Fleming, Environment Minister George Heyman, Minister of State for Infrastructure Bowinn Ma, and federal MP John Aldag for the announcement of the final approvals of the Surrey-Langley SkyTrain project and the project completion date of 2028, two years earlier than originally planned.

The Surrey-Langley SkyTrain will connect Langley with the rest of the region's rapid transit network with two stations in the Langleys.  This new line will connect the region with Langley, allowing people to travel to Langley to visit, shop, learn and work faster and easier -- with a 22 minute ride time to King George Station and just over an hour from Downtown Vancouver to Downtown Langley.

At the event, Langley Chamber CEO Cory Redekop noted the positive opportunities SkyTrain will unlock for Langley:  "It will serve as a catalyst for creating exciting new commercial, retail and mixed-use space for businesses to move into and grow, creating the homes for the entrepreneurs of the future, and ensuring local jobs to support our residents and underpin our community"
