Construction on the Surrey Langley SkyTrain continues to move forward, marking a major step toward improved transportation connectivity across the region. This transformative project will ultimately deliver faster, more reliable transit for Surrey, Langley, and the broader Metro Vancouver area, supporting long-term economic growth and business access across the corridor.

The Langley Chamber continues to meet regularly with the project team to raise issues, share feedback from the business community, and ensure that the impacts of construction are clearly understood and managed wherever possible. Ongoing updates like this are critical in helping local businesses plan ahead, communicate with customers, and adjust operations during periods of disruption.

From February through May 2026, construction activity is increasing along key sections of Fraser Highway and surrounding areas in both Surrey and Langley. While access to businesses will be maintained throughout construction, there will be noticeable impacts to traffic flow, access, and travel times.

Key Impacts for Businesses (Current Period):

• Single lane traffic along Fraser Highway, with one lane open in each direction; traffic is shifted around work zones and across medians, which may restrict turning movements. Temporary traffic stoppages of up to two minutes at times, controlled by traffic personnel
• Ongoing utility work to support future stations and SkyTrain infrastructure
• Temporary access changes at intersections and driveways as work progresses
• Construction activity occurring along key areas including:
  • Fraser Highway between 64 Avenue and 201A Street
  • Langley Lane (east of Highway 10)
  • Industrial Avenue between 200 Street and 203 Street

As construction continues, businesses are encouraged to stay informed, plan for potential delays, and communicate proactively with staff, customers, and suppliers.
