Township of Langley Seeks Input on Transportation and Mobility Strategy
The Township of Langley is updating its Transportation and Mobility Strategy for the first time since 2009, setting the direction for how people and goods will move through the community as it continues to grow.
With major changes on the horizon—including the arrival of SkyTrain and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)—this strategy will shape how customers, employees, and deliveries access businesses across Langley. The updated plan will address the full transportation network, including roads, transit, walking, cycling, and emerging mobility options, and how these systems support growth and development.
The Langley Chamber is encouraging members to participate in the current engagement process and ensure that business perspectives are clearly reflected. An online open house is coming up on Wednesday, April 29 (5:00pm - 6:00pm). Attendees will see the proposed strategies, maps, and approaches, and can ask questions and provide feedback. Register online > An online survey will also be available soon.
The Langley Chamber has made a fulsome written submission to the Township as part of this process, informed by input from our members, Policy Committee, and Board of Directors. Our recommendations focused on key business priorities including protecting and optimizing goods and freight movement, improving travel efficiency and reducing congestion, supporting reliable transit and transportation options, ensuring strong land use and transportation integration, and advancing practical infrastructure solutions such as coordinated construction, corridor improvements, and technology-driven traffic management.
