TransLink Seeks Input on Langley–Haney Place Bus Rapid Transit Project
TransLink has launched the next phase of public engagement for the proposed Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project along the Langley–Haney Place corridor, and is seeking input from residents and businesses in the Township of Langley. The Langley Chamber is deeply engaged with BRT and Translink, and encourages our members to share their input with Translink and with us directly as well. For Langley businesses, improved transit connectivity can play an important role in workforce access and customer mobility, and will support long-term growth.
From January 13 to February 8, TransLink is sharing updated design information for the corridor, including proposed lane configurations and station designs and seeking feedback. Take the survey > Feedback collected during this phase will help inform a single recommended lane configuration that will advance into the final stage of design.
The proposed BRT route would connect the future Surrey–Langley SkyTrain station at Willowbrook Mall with Haney Place in Maple Ridge, providing faster and more reliable transit through dedicated bus lanes, signal priority at intersections, and weather-protected stations. If implemented, the service would operate every 10 minutes during peak periods, reduce peak travel times by approximately 40%, and offer end-to-end travel times comparable to driving.
