Upskilling and Training Support - $3500 Future Skills Grant Program Starting September

The StrongerBC Future Skills Grant Program provides up to $3500 in financial support to fund short-term skills training at public post-secondary institutions, empowering individuals to pursue new opportunities in various industries.

This is a valuable opportunity for both business owners to upskill themselves on things like marketing, project management or bookkeeping, but also an important program for your employees to utilize themselves to get free skills development that can help them take on new and enhanced roles in your business.

The Grant Details

Starting in September 2023, the StrongerBC Future Skills Grant Program is open to all BC adults, without any financial need requirement. This means that regardless of your financial status, you can apply for the grant to access up to $3,500 in funding for eligible short-term skills training.
The grant is applicable to over 400 programs on offer from public institutions across BC, for both in-person and online learning.  These short-term courses were curated to align with the demands of the job market and the growth industries in BC.

How It Works

Interested individuals can register directly with their preferred public post-secondary institution and indicate their intention to utilize the grant. Once you have been accepted into an eligible program, the institution will waive your fees and/or tuition costs, up to a maximum of $3,500.
There is a lifetime cap of $3,500 for each individual. Once you have utilized this funding, you will not be eligible for further support from the grant program.
