Creating Certainty in an Uncertain Environment
Navigating through and beyond the pandemic
As British Columbia has navigated the pandemic over the past 18 months, businesses in every region of the province have been negatively impacted, particularly those in the tourism and hospitality sectors. It has taken both an emotional and financial toll on businesses and their employees, with some owners having incurred significant debt to keep operating – debt that will take years to repay.
We are now at a critical juncture. Businesses need certainty and predictability to thrive, especially at a time when they need to keep employees, customers, and patrons safe, rebuild consumer confidence and rebuild business. The question is – how do we create certainty in an uncertain environment?
In this presentation, Fiona Famulak, President and CEO of the BC Chamber of Commerce, will share details of the impact of the pandemic on the provincial and regional business communities, and her thoughts on what’s needed to create certainty for businesses so that they recover and thrive in an economy that is more inclusive, innovative and competitive than before the pandemic was declared.
KEY TAKEAWAYS:
- Receive key data that tells the story of the impact of the pandemic on the provincial and regional business communities.
- Learn about the key priorities that governments need to focus on to create certainty for businesses.
