Business Crime & Crime Reduction through Intelligence-Led Policing
Speaker Staff Sergeant Dave Carr.
The evening's presentation will cover some of the crime trends affecting businesses in the Langleys and the efforts the RCMP and community partners are taking to combat crime. Focusing on intelligence-led policing and the key role partners play in producing viable intelligence, the concept of crime reduction will be discussed and how this model of policing is used to effectively solve problems.
ABOUT OUR PRESENTER …
Staff Sergeant Dave Carr has been a member of the RCMP for over 23 years. He has been posted in Burnaby, Surrey, and Langley Detachments in a variety of policing roles such as General Duty, Serious Crimes, Professional Standards, and Community Policing. He has also served on three peace operations in Kosovo, East Timor, and South Sudan. Staff Sergeant Carr was a member the Underwater Recovery Team for 15 years of his service. He holds a Master of Arts in Human Security and Peacebuilding degree through Royal Roads University, and a Diploma in Criminal Justice from the University of the Fraser Valley. Staff Sergeant Carr currently serves as the NCO in charge of the Community Policing Section of Langley RCMP.
