Embracing Truth - Honouring the National Day for Reconciliation
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a day for Canadians to commemorate the history and legacy of the residential school system.
It’s a day to honour the resilience, dignity and strength of survivors and remember the children who never came home. It's a chance to engage and educate people about B.C.'s colonial history and how it has and continues to impact Indigenous communities.
In this spirit, the Langley Chamber is excited to invite you to the virtual event, "Embracing Truth: Honouring the National Day for Reconciliation," with keynote speaker Chris Sankey, Indigenous Affairs & Economic Reconciliation Advocate, hosted in partnership with the BC Chamber of Commerce. This event is a step towards fostering understanding, collaboration, and reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities in British Columbia.
By participating in "Embracing Truth," you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing reconciliation efforts. This event is not only about acknowledging the past but also about shaping a more inclusive and collaborative future. Tickets to this event are complimentary, but you will have the opportunity to donate to the Indian Residential School Survivors Society, an organization dedicated to supporting survivors and their healing journey.
