Community Day Parade and Celebration!

The streets of downtown Langley will come alive again this summer. To begin the summer season is the Community Day Parade. There will be prizes for the best float, best walking and equestrian group theme and prizes for the best in each category. Now's the time to make your plans to register for the City of Langley’s awesome kick off to summer!

The parade will take place on Saturday, June 16th at 10:00 am. The Parade's route will move along Fraser Highway starting at 203rd Street and proceed along the one-way section, finishing up at 207th Street.

Something new has been added this year. Modeled after the popular Sport Manitoba parade, local businesses have the opportunity host a block party to promote their business along the route. The block party can be simple or elaborate. It can feature live entertainment or simply be a table with upbeat music and give away’s or coupons from the store. Some downtown businesses have already claimed their spot, but there are still some blocks that need a sponsor. Call 604-514-2940 or 604-514-2902 to receive more information.

Following the parade, everyone is invited to go to Douglas Park for the Community Day Celebration. From noon to 4 pm there will be entertainment, interesting and interactive booths, activities for children, free prize giveaways including a BBQ donated by Canadian Tire and the ever-popular Langley City Firefighter’s Challenge.
