Governance Workshop: How to Be the Best Board You Can Be
Join us for an informative evening where Larry Nelson will teach you where the word "governance" comes from and what it means. You?ll also hear a quick overview of the legal and fiduciary responsibilities of boards and directors, learn the 10 things every board must do well, and learn the 12 questions every board should ask themselves. He will also provide you with five tips for excellent executive director/board chair relationships and let you know what a great board meeting looks like.
About the speaker: Larry Nelson is currently Vice Chair of the board of the Terminal City Club in Vancouver and over the years Larry has served on over 10 not-for-profit boards, many of them as board chair. He also assists charities in conducting organization, policy and program reviews and board governance consulting in the areas of strategic planning, best board practices and succession planning.
