On February 1, 2017, BC's new Franchises Act is coming into force, which will govern the previously unregulated franchise industry in BC by bringing in extensive disclosure requirements for all franchisors in the province. Join business lawyer, Jamie Nay from CBM Lawyers, as he discusses the new laws and their impact on the rights of current and potential franchisees, and the new obligations of franchisors.

ABOUT OUR SPEAKER: Soon after graduating in 2007 from the University of Victoria, having had a long time interest in computers, Jamie decided to enter the field of web development and computer programming. Jamie worked as a web developer until beginning law school at the University of Victoria in 2011. After completing law school in the spring of 2014 and articling with CBM Lawyers, Jamie was called to the Bar of British Columbia in early 2015. Jamie practices primarily in the areas of business, real estate, and estate planning law, and enjoys advising and assisting both personal and corporate clients on a wide array of legal matters and issues.
