WHAT TO DO WHEN THINGS GO WRONG
The Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce is pleased to host Frank Supovitz, President & Chief Experience Officer of Fast Traffic Events & Entertainment and former Senior Vice President of Events for the NFL, as our keynote speaker at the 89th Annual General Meeting.
Thanks to three decades of managing high-profile challenges while serving as the Senior Executive in charge of events for the NFL, the NHL, and Radio City Music Hall, Supovitz has identified the Ten Mega-Truths of Crisis Management, which provide the framework and valuable takeaways for this entertaining and informative muli-media presentation.
KEY TAKEAWAYS:
- Learn why planning is not the first thing you do when taking on a new initiative. Make your project crisis-resistant by imagining the things that could go wrong and inform better planning and delivery.
- Don't try to plan for everything. Plan for anything.
- Learn how problems don't follow patterns, but solutions often do.
- Get tips on how to respond - not react - when a crisis emerges despite your best efforts.
- Avoid the Law of Unintended Consequences.
For more than 30 years, Frank Supovitz has been at the helm of some of the world's most prestigious, widely-viewed, and well-attended sports and entertainment events. As the Senior Vice President of Events for the National Football League between 2005 and 2014, he was a major contributor to the meteoric growth of the Super Bowl, the NFL Draft, and American football games in London. Prior to joining the NFL, Frank led the National Hockey League's event team for 13 years, responsible for the NHL All-Star Weekend, Stanley Cup, and international competition in Europe and Japan. Together with the Edmonton Oilers, he developed the league's first stadium-based outdoor games in 2003, the forerunner to the highly successful NHL Winter Classic.
Supovitz founded Fast Traffic in 2014, an award-winning event management, production, and consulting firm that has served a wide range of sports and entertainment clients, including the Indy 500, the Major League Soccer, the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Australia's National Rugby League, the Canadian Football League, the Big East Men's Basketball Tournament, the NBA's Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks, and the Houston and Minnesota Super Bowl Committees, among others. Fast Traffic was an integral member of the development and management team for the Rooftop at Pier 17 at the South Street Seaport in New York City, Pollstar Award winner for the Best Concert Venue of 2018.
