Advocacy Win - Better Representation for Langley with New Provincial Riding and 3rd MLA
The Langley Chamber is voicing its approval and support for the preliminary report of the BC Electoral Boundaries Commission after it recommended creating a third Langley riding and giving Langley three dedicated MLAs, in line with the Langley Chamber's advocacy earlier this year. (See our submission)
The Langleys are now the region's fastest growing communities, and Langley deserves to have our voice and our concerns heard loudly in Victoria. Currently, parts of our community are split off into other ridings to the east, and our ridings are over-populated, diluting our influence with the provincial government. That is why the Langley chamber is called for three Langley ridings, all of which to be contained entirely within the bounds of the Township of Langley and the City of Langley.
The Langley Chamber is pleased to see our recommendation has been adopted by the Commission, and we will continue to advocate for Langley to have the representation and influence we deserve with the provincial government.
