Highway 1 Expansion Plans Revealed for 264th through to Chilliwack

The Ministry of Transportation & Infrastructure has released the plans for the rest of the Highway 1 expansion project, from 264th street in Langley through to Chilliwack.
For years, the Langley Chamber has been advocating for increasing Highway 1 capacity, and particularly to replace the 264th overpass and create options for transit service to the Gloucester business district. These new plans include a major replacement of the 264th overpass, including the addition of a new mobility hub with a dedicated transit loop for buses to service this area, including on-site parking for passenger vehicles. The plan also includes additional an additional HOV lane, separate bus lane, and climbing lanes for trucks to prevent slowing other traffic.
The Langley Chamber is reviewing the plans directly, and working with our Fraser Valley chamber of commerce counterparts to encourage an expedited timeline for this project, to realize these improvements as soon as possible. This follows our engagement with the project team in recent months, and our work through the BC Chamber to advocate provincially for Highway 1 expansion.

We encourage our members to provide input to the project directly, but also to let the Chamber know your thoughts and input so we can advocate together on this. Submit input >
